“I am a child of divorce, who witnessed two marriages end before I was 15,” says Jordana Wolfson, the heart and soul behind Co-Parenting Solutions.
“I know first-hand the effects of divorce and how devastating it can be for children. My childhood experiences drive me to get ahead of potentially life-altering disappointments and hurt for children,” says Jordana. “When parents act out of the interests of their children, they prepare them to be high-functioning, happy adults who are capable of healthy relationships. That’s a goal we can all get behind.”
Jordana dreamed of building a business that would create happy families who could learn to work together for everyone’s benefit. She began with a grant from Hebrew Free Loan and meticulously mailed letters to 400 people in the fields of family law, therapy and counseling, Friend of the Court and friends and neighbors, sharing the news of her entrepreneurial journey and asking for introductions and a chance to prove her talents. Her first case came as a recommendation from Friend of the Court, which was seeking therapists who could work with high-conflict divorced families. The practice has grown rapidly since then.
Today, Jordana sits on the board of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan, of which she is also a Past President. She works with families choosing the path of Collaborative Divorce, and she works with families in traditional family law cases, before, during and after the marriage ends. She serves clients in the following ways:
Jordana Wolfson founded Co-Parenting Solutions, LLC to fulfill a personal mission to help children live to their fullest potential. In her work within schools (as an early childhood director, K-4 principal and K-12 Head of School), Jordana became a trusted resource and confidant for students enduring tumultuous divorce situations. In her own life, she rode the waves of divorce, building a heartfelt awareness of the roller coaster of emotions and insecurities children can experience when they are dragged into the messiness of adult relationships.
As a licensed clinical social worker, Jordana brings a depth of experience, training and sensitivity to her work. “Being a good divorce and co-parenting facilitator means helping families create a vision of their future that is hope-filled and attainable.”
